Outlook 2016 Search not working

One of our user's Outlook 2016 search is not working. Under Outlook Options -> Search, the Source Indexing Options is Grayed out. Also, the Search Engine Upgrade -> Upgrade to the latest version of Windows Search "Upgrade Search" link takes you to a page that is no longer available.  If I got to Control Panel - Mail, I get Application Not Found so I can't create a new profile. I have tried repairing Office and uninstalling and reinstalling Office but nothing fixes the issue. Any ideas besides reinstalling Windows 10?

Try Outlook /profiles to see if you can open the profile to change or delete.

For some versions of Outlook 2016, the Control Panel icon has been removed and you get there by Command Line.

Hi John, that worked to create a new Profile but unfortunately the search is still not working even with a new profile.  Any other suggestions?
Try the following then:

Create a new, test WINDOWS User Profile (Users and Groups). Log into the new Windows Account. Set up Outlook and test.

The indexing options that you try to bring up are the very same which you can open through control panel ->"indexing options". So just click your start button and type "indexing" and you will find them. See if they open up.

John, same issue on new Windows Account User with new Outlook Profile. Also, I didn't mention this before but when I try and search I get "Search Performance will be impacted because of a problem with how Outlook search is configured".

McKnife,  that does allow me to access the Indexing Options which weren't available in Outlook options. I have done the Rebuild on Outlook but I still have the same issue.

Is there something in the Indexing Options that I need to change?

In your second JPG, you are trying to index Program Data.  Outlook does not normally keep its files there.

Try resetting your locations to the common locations (Users and Outlook) and then rebuild the index after that.

I took a look at other user setups and they all have the same default of "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft" as the Current Index Location. What location do you have?
Users (which contains Outlook data files) and Documents (normally in Users) Users is for the logged in User

I changed the Outlook Index to the User folder but still have the same issue. Is reinstalling Windows my only option here?
