Backup on Exchange 2010 archiving storage

Exchange 2010 has been enabled for archiving mail on another server. What kinds of storage device is normally used to save this archiving mailbox ? Should we use RAID-6 Dell storage ? What sort of backup does we normally use to backup this storage ? Main consideration criteria is cost saving.

And same backup method.  You may not have to back it up as often, depending on the number of users and size of the archives.  But you can use the same backup method for an archive datastore as for any other datastore.
