Need a plan for getting cross-links to my website

I would like to start writing articles about my research, and using them to get cross-links to other news websites.

I have a Wordpress website and wonder what plug-ins can help.

Also, what kind of conventional word counts and page formats are most typical for me enticing other sites to want to cross-link?

Thanks

You could join a link farm registry but this may actually downgrade your SEO attempts if detected by the search engines. Content is king, supply the content and the users will come. This is not an overnight process.

Do you have a SEO plugin on your site, and do you use it? eg Yoast

1) Use Yoast.

2) Write stellar content.

3) Promote your content.

Many ways to promote your content + simple way, buy paid traffic to your content.

Test Facebook, Google Ads, Yahoo Gemini, Outbrain, Taboola, YouTube, LinkedIn.

How you promote your content depends on your niche + content slant + amount of content.

Look around for sites similar to what you're building look around for PodCasts or articles interviewing the site owner about... how they built up their visitor numbers.

Thanks for all the ideas.

I will get Yoast for my WordPress site.

I plan to have a series of replay-able live webinars, videos and audios on my very specific content niche.

Does that change the suggestions thus far?

Thanks.
