Choosing Online Backup provider

I use to use crashplan which was amazing.

Then I tried IDrive, their software is really bad. gets the computer stuck .

Then I tried carbonite which they choose which files to backup, I told them I want to backup everything, they said it's not possible.

So which online backup provider do you recommend ?

Hi alonig1,

I told them I want to backup everything, they said it's not possible.

Sorry, but that advice they gave you is just plain garbage. It most certainly IS possible, perhaps not with their solution though.

Providing you have decent upload and download speeds, I both use and can recommend Acronis Backup and Recovery solutions.

https://www.acronis.com/en-us/

They also recently wrote an article published on Experts Exchange that you may find interesting as well here:

If your needs are for personal use, Acronis True Image 2019 may be ideal for you. You can create an Incremental image (the first is a full backup of your entire system) that you can save and upload to their Cloud Storage facility, as well as to a local NAS drive if you like, and then just create Incremental backups and send them up to your Cloud Storage facility (and/or NAS) as often as you like - all scheduled and happening automatically.

In the event of a disaster - you can restore your entire system from the Cloud if necessary, right up to the point of the last Incremental backup you made, or any dated Incremental backup you want to choose. You can also retrieve individual files from any Incremental backup you've made at any time you like as well, so you have file and program versioning backups available to you as well, without needing to do anything more.

I hope that's helpful.

Regards, Andrew
One other thing.. just for the sake of curiosity, why did you choose to abandon Crashplan?

I have been using MS Azure back up for an office server https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/backup/  It has been working well and the monthly cost is reasonable and excellent support.

ASKER

if for a home personal computer.
You can use Azure for a home computer as well.

What I suggest is to do daily backups using Azure and in addition move all of your folders for documents, images, videos, music etc to a Dropbox or OneDrive folder. For this size, you will need to use a paid plan.  Dropbox/OneDrive/GoogleDrive will allow you to get easy access to incremental saves throughout the day and even for the month.  Azureback up allows you to restore backup images based on a day.  Lets say you found you have accidentally deleted a file last week.  Using Dropbox, you can go back in history and restore that one file or folder very quickly.
Andrew and Scott gave great provider ideas for backing up a personal home computer. Either would work well, I think. For what it’s worth, if you’re a London-based small business owner looking for a similar solution, prosyn.co.uk is a solid choice for cloud back up and IT support. Super reasonable rates, friendly/knowledgeable staff, etc. and offers a tiered package system.
