Mirror Apple TV on iPad Pro to view MLB-TV

MLB-TV with iPad Pro (iOS 11.4.1) consistently loses WiFi connection with LAN (44.7 mbs / possible 50) iPad rebooting necessary.

Is it possible to mirror Apple TV (MLB-TV OK here) with iPad Pro/Control Panel to view MLB-TV on iPad? Other folks will be watching TV on cable or Netflix/Amazon Prime. This is the reverse of screen mirroring (see Control Panel) as in viewing iDevice on Apple TV.

If so, are there special settings etc.?

I spent about 15 minutes looking around online to see if this is possible to mirror from an Apple TV to an iPad.  It does not look like its possible.

What router do you have that the iPad loses connection?  Seems like that should be what we need to troubleshoot and not work around that problem! :)

I am unaware of anyway to actually mirror TO an iPad.

This issue is all about MLB.TV. Other applications/services are not affected by loss of connection. As you have determined mirroring will not work, my next approach is to investigate updating the router, as Apple has ceased making Airport Extreme routers.

So, I have looked in some detail at the eero version 2 mesh, hoping this type of system would be a solution as the Airport Extreme provides only minimum signal in some of my home areas.  What say you?

Comments and advice on routers are like noses, everyone has one.  I have always had good luck with Linksys routers, others have not.

I am more curious on the dropping of that service only, which would seem to indicate it might be a problem with the service and not your device or router.  is there another device, such as a phone or different tablet you could try to see if the connection drops there as well?

Also, please describe what you see when the connection drops? It just stops? Do you get any message?

>>>  It just stops?  Yes, eg. Pitcher in windup just stops!

>>> Do you get any message?  No, all usually requires iPad reboot - very seldom resumes - during this 'pause' Apple TV reception is OK.
Watching on TV not an option, as others want cable TV.

I have assumed problem is not with service, uses same WiFi as Netflix etc.

I have an Airport Extreme router too.  I was unaware they stopped making them!

Understand. This still sounds like an app issue. If it stops and requires a reboot, then the app has crashed, or caused the system to crash and lock up. (As an app developer, those kinds of errors are sometimes difficult to find.)

And cliche as this sounds, I would delete the app and reinstall. Deleting it should delete all its files as well, and their may be a corrupted file causing the crash. Delete the app, and if it asks, delete all its info too. Reboot the iPad to clear cache if still locked, and then reinstall. See if that makes any difference.

I really do not think your network is at fault here at all.

FYI: There are a number of folks on the Roku forum complaining about MLB TV locking up.

Thanks to all - most helpful! I have enough input to query MVB.TV about this problem.
