outlook, offcie 2016
I have installed office 365 proplus on my VM , right now group policy is cached set to 90 days of email, so my mailbox can only keep upto 90 days of email.
so if I want to pull emails more than 90 days old, I have to change search to all outlook items instead of current mail box
my question
if I search email for feb 2018 And I get that email , if I save it in my outlook in one of the folders will it be now forever and the present group policy wont act against it
secondly if I use advanced find , is there any way I can search all outlook items as by default it again takes me to current mail box

But user wants to save in one sub folder in outlook will it avoid group policy
If your OST file holds the subfolder and needs to be rebuilt, the later email will go away and have to be found again.
You (your company) set the policy, so people need to follow it.
Try sending it to yourself (the user here) so that it shows up in email in the Inbox as new.

Hi John, one last question
regarding the screen shot you shared , is there any option in group policy where I can point to search all outlook items , so that all 500 users
need not change on their outlook individually

You would have look that up in the Outlook GPO Documents. If I get a minute I will take a look but you can as well as I have given you the settings

I think it explains it well.

Thanks and good luck with the above article.
2. Go to Outlook Options Search and set search for all mailboxes. Trying to set in Advanced Find will just revert as you note.
