Need to buy a USB To SATA Hard Drive Adapter kit. What's a recommended adapter kit?  I need to recover data from an old SATA drive to my Microsoft Surface Pro Laptop.

This would be a good device if you need SATA or IDE and then of course depending on if the drive is 2.5" Laptop IDE and 3.5" IDE.  The connectors do differ.

It looks like you require SATA which the SATA port will do 2.5 or 3.5" SATA, so this device should do the trick.

There are cheaper ones if you need one that only supports SATA.

The other option is to go with an External enclosure for your drive to convert to USB in which case you can use it and keep it in the enclosure.
If you need options, Amazon always has plentiful options.  Your local computer store?  Best Buy?  Fry's etc.

Let us know if you require something different.

No problem! :)  Hope you will be able to make good use out of it and recover your data from the old drive.
