from onpremise mailboxes, remove onpremise active directory domain named email addresses and then try migrate mailboxes

what are the email addresses on the mailbox? if there is a .local domain, that will need to be removed because O365 doesn't support that domain ext.

Do i need to remove it from the AD server proxy settings as well? Do i do a re sync of AD connect?

Commented:
no, just remove it from the mailboxes, if you want the changes to show quicker, then yes you can perform a manual resync.
