O365 photos?

Hi Experts,

I have a office 365 photo question, I have a hybrid Office 365 environment where all identities are being synced and have all mailboxes migrated to exchange online and am also using SharePoint Online, OneDrive and all of the Office 365 apps.

For photos, we are currently syncing from our local AD, thumbnail photo to AD azure which have to be under 10k.  From what I understand, this then syncs to exchange online, then sharepoint, onedrive, skype, delve, update the photo using exchange online as the source once the initial sync is done from local AD.  Once the initial sync is done, any updates will not sync?  Is this a correct workflow of how photos are managed?

We also have some issue where things are open for users to be able to customize their own photos which is a problem.  To prevent this, can only be done by setting the OwaMailboxPolicy to false, but leaves other areas where the photo can be edit; sharepoint, skype, etc.,

Is there any more efficient ways to manage photos in Office 365 than this?

Thanks!

This is the actual workflow: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3185286/information-about-profile-picture-synchronization-in-office-365

But unfortunately, I can't help you with your management questions. I don't know the answers, other than I've heard other companies complain about the ability to upload photos from other locations.
