MS-SQL CDC (Change Data Capture) feature to limit if a field is traced

MS-SQL Server 2017 CDC

By default when setting up CDC for a table all fields are traced, but it can also be set to specific fields.

Is there a way to set the CDC to not only these specific fields, but also the value they contain?  In other words, can a field that is set to trace be ignored by CDC if it contains a certain value?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I believe you could write your own Table-Value Function(s) that Queries for Change Data as describe high level here and in there you can filter to get only specific column values OR vice-versa - to exclude some values from CDC.
