Can anyone recommend an full disk encryption software with a management console that will work with GPT disk on a windows 7 professional machine. Rebuilding / Upgrading the machine to Windows 10 isn't an option currently.

I have already looked at Symantec encryption and Sophos Safeguard both these dont work with the above

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Stephen

I've used diskcryptor at home on windows 7 with a cascading Algorithm. I use AES/Twofish for encryption. It's free and it'll also create a boot loader for you too.

You could (at low cost) upgrade to win7 ultimate - you just change the key, you don't reinstall, all is kept, but then you could use bitlocker, which supports GPT. Disk cryptor lists GPT as unsupported (see red writing on https://diskcryptor.net/wiki/Main_Page )
Veracrypt is another freeware that supports GPT by now: https://www.veracrypt.fr/en/Home.html

May not fully satisfied though VeraCrypt supports encrypting non-system GPT partitions/drives. For it to encrypt your boot partitions or entire disk (containing multiple partitions), it requires a legacy MBR disk (Master Boot Record) to encrypt the drive Windows is installed on fully.

Outdated info, btan. It supports system disk encryption on uefi since several versions.

That would be the (only) solution? It costs money, much more than a win7 ultimate license.

Thanks - you cannot purchase Win 7 Ultimate licenses anymore.
