Needing Internet Restrictions on ANDROID tablets.

We currently have 200 android tablet devices in a CLOUD only environment, no on prem.

What i would like to do is for the tablets to have restricted internet access, what is the best way to do this? Do not want any app installation or the use of a subscription such as openDNS where there is a cost associated to it. Cant use free as there are restriction on additional entries (may be wrong)

Anyway, would love help with this and what I can do to achieve this, as I said we are cloud based and using MerakiSM MDM to manage these. Step by Step would also be appreciated.

Thanks

John

You will need to force a VPN on the devices in order for the traffic to be restricted but you need a filter to do it as well. SM itself does not have content filtering.

If these are not KNOX devices it requires additional software like anyconnect installed and then you will need an MX to do Sentry for the VPN auto connection. I don't believe you can force the VPN on Android without KNOX which is only on Samsung devices.

There is also a virtual MX appliance you can get since you are cloud based. https://meraki.cisco.com/products/appliances/vmx100
