How to crop with Irfanview and discard the black leftover?

How to crop with Irfanview and discard the black leftover?
Actually meant to crop the rest on the left side and top and bottom to leave the map portion.

This laptop and Windows 8 does not have the best cropper user wise which is Microsoft Picture Manager.

I tried cropping with Paint and little results.

Hi Nick,

Two comments:

(1) For IrfanView, simply rubber-band the area, i.e., drag mouse from upper left to lower right to select the area, then click the Edit menu, then Crop selection. I just did it with IrfanView on the image you posted and it created this:

nick cropped IrfanView
(2) If you want Picture Manager in W8, these EE articles explain how to get it at no cost:

How to Install Microsoft Office Picture Manager in Office 2013
How to Install Microsoft Office Picture Manager in Office 2016/Office 365

Either article will do, and it doesn't matter which Office is installed...in fact, you don't need any Office installed!

If you prefer videos, here's a 5-minute EE video Micro Tutorial that explains how to do it:

Joe,
I do not think my Irfanview had crop selection. It has cut selection and cut out side the selection, so the same thing.

IrfanView has had Crop Selection for as long as I can remember (says Cut Out in parentheses):

IrfanView crop selection
I just used it (Crop Selection) to create the screenshot above after hitting the PrintScreen (PrtSc) key and pasting into IrfanView (that's how I do nearly all of my screenshots here at EE).

Don't worry about it.
