Chrome hangs and locks up my laptop.

Hi, At least 4 times a day, Chrome hangs and locks up my laptop. It always happens when I'm working on Chrome, and open a new tab, or scroll down, or am doing something with Chrome open. It says not responding, and I can't open any other programs or the task manager. It stays locked for almost a minute.

I've cleared my cache, I uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome. I only have two extensions running, Classic Cache Killer and View Image Info (properties).

Thoughts?

Hi,

If your running Chrome on a netbook, older machine, or smaller you might end up encountering problems also due to the CPU and the memory-size. The plugins may be the issue and sound like third-party installations.

It may be a good idea to list the specs of your machine for diagnosis since it is unknown know what CPU is being used if this is not the case for further inspection.

As suggested, also remove any extensions that are not part of the vanilla browser package as conflicts can also cause this.

Ok, I have:

1. Deleted the two extensions
2. Made another browse the default (otherwise it messes up outlook links, as I found last time)
3. Deleted Chrome
4. Restarted
5. Installed chrome without extensions and made it the default browser.

Thanks- I am getting small stalls today, but they only last 5-10 seconds as opposed to 40 seconds to a minute, so I'll take it. Seems to happen when I open a new tab, but only occasionally.
