Starting a new year with QuickBook 2018

My accountant uses QuickBooks and provided me the 2017 QB file  used to file my taxes. So, I need to create a new empty file for 2018 where I can start to log my expenses.

I need to maintain all the accounts and configurations she may have done, but want 2018 to be a blank slate.

Is there an option for this in QB?

Thanks

I'm using QB 2015, but I would expect it to be very similar to 2018.
Look at File, Export, Lists.  From there you can export almost everything except for transactions.

You can go to the old QuickBooks file and export IIF files for Accounts, Lists, Customers and Vendors. Check - I think you can get all or most of these items.

Then start a brand new company and import the IIF files to make the structure.

This works and I have done it before.

Question: Why not just upgrade the old file to the new QuickBooks and add data in the new year. This works fine as QuickBooks keeps its data in daily buckets. You can report on just 2018.

Consider this as it will be easier, but starting again works as well. I have done all the above.
