How to perform a wireshark session within an Azure VM?

I am trying to do a Wireshark session within an Azure VM to monitor the network traffic to and from a specific network adapter within the VM,  But when I start Wireshark,  there is no interface at all.   What do I need to ask IT to configure the VM so I can use Wireshark to monitor the network traffic.

The same way WireShark would be run on any other OS. Download, install (if not portable), and run. Configure it for your needs from there.

Please see the attached.  As you can see there is no interface within Wireshark application.  But you can see there is Ethernet 3 Microsoft Hyper V Network Adapter.

Ah, I sit corrected.

The Hyper-V virtual switch needs to be set to "Promiscuous Mode" which is obviously not possible with an Azure VM since there is no access to the host.

So, the revised answer is, "No, it's not possible to run any network scoping software such as WireShark in a VM on Azure". Apologies for the error.

Is there any other mean to perform network scoping under Azure VM?

As far as what's on the subnet? Sure, use this freebie: Advanced IP Scanner.

We use this tool a lot.

I need to monitor the data packet coming into the VM and determine if there is a problem about the network communication

Azure native: Network Watcher. It seems to be the way to delve in as WireShark would be.
