Windows Server 2016 does not update (WSUS and internet updates do not work)

Hi,

Windows Server 2016 Version 1607 does not update through WSUS and/or internet. Tried stopping bits and update service, deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder and also searched for updates with firewall on and off. The wsus server is correctly set through group policies. The updating process is stuck at 0% downloading. On some servers it helped deleting the softwaredistribution folder, on some it does nothing. I do not know what to do next.

Please help me!

There is a bug in server 1607. It has been known for years and is long fixed. Since that bug is about WSUS, you need to install the fix manually and afterwards, it will talk to wsus again. Simply download and install the latest cumulative update for server 2016.

Can you post a link to the latest working cu for 1607 please. I downloaded five different updates but none of these work.

Please note: that is the August 2018 cumulative update. I did not link september's update so that you can test right away: install august 18 CU, reboot, redetect.
