RDP VM in Azure cloud

I have a VM created in Azure cloud (It is SEAsia region.  I subscribe with an MSDN subscription that gives $200 credit) .  But I am unable to RDP both from office and home . Do I have to add the VM's ip to  the firewall exception ?

RDP is usually blocked by default, so you would need to ensure that port 3389 (UDP and TCP) are allowed (assuming a default configuration). You may also need to ensure that the user you are logging in as is authorised to use remote desktop services.

Are you connecting via the generated RDP file or via the external IP? Also, check the NSG if the port is allowed

Once the VM is set up either use the console that is available via the Azure Portal or set up a firewall exception for 3389 TCP inbound on the public IP network object the VM is connected to.
