South Park/Simpsons/Family Guy Animation VERSUS Frozen/Incredibles/Shrek Animation - Software Question

Does anyone have a link/blogpost or article discussing which Animation software is used to create: South Park, the Simpsons, Family Guy, etc?
How about 3d-like cartoons like Incredibles, Frozen, Shrek?

Same software?  Different software?

George Hull is a friend of my family:

Although his website doesn't discuss the software that he uses, there's a contact form there and I'm (somewhat) confident that he'll reply to your questions...he's a very nice fellow. I don't see mention of it at his site, but his animation on Finding Nemo is superb. Regards, Joe

Software is any set of instructions that directs a computer to perform specific tasks or operations. Computer software consists of programs, libraries and related non-executable data (such as documentation). Computer software is non-tangible, contrasted with computer hardware, which is the physical component of computers. Software written in a machine language is known as "machine code". However, in practice, software is usually written in high-level programming languages than machine language. High-level languages are translated into machine language using a compiler or interpreter or a combination of the two.
