Does anyone have a link/blogpost or article discussing which Animation software is used to create: South Park, the Simpsons, Family Guy, etc?
How about 3d-like cartoons like Incredibles, Frozen, Shrek?

Same software?  Different software?

You'd be surprised how many mainstream animation you're familiar with use Blender.

https://www.blender.org/download/demo-files/ provides many examples.

Big Buck Bunny is one of the most widely used references.

The Simpsons use Blender.

George Hull is a friend of my family:

Although his website doesn't discuss the software that he uses, there's a contact form there and I'm (somewhat) confident that he'll reply to your questions...he's a very nice fellow. I don't see mention of it at his site, but his animation on Finding Nemo is superb. Regards, Joe
