How to purge shadow copies on Windows 2012 R2

My AV enabled VSS shadow copies on drive E:.  I uninstalled it,  however, drive E: has 139 GBs of unneeded volume shadow copies..  There are currently no scheduled enabled.  How can I purge these?  This is a Windows 2012 R2 server running Exchange 2013.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Do you suggest I perform a backup of the Windows 2012 R2 server and Exchange 2013 server first?  I can run them in my VEEAM lab to make sure..  I've ran that command a long time ago, however, it wasn't on an Exchange 2013 sever and I think it was Windows 2008.  I just wanted to make sure...
