Restore accounts/files from image disk

Hi,

I have a Mac OS X. The Time Machine is disabled. I have an image of the disk, but when restore the image the computer not boot. After doing a fresh installation the computer starts well and i can access files in the image.
Is possible restore only files and accounts to the new installation?

YES .. should be possible .. can you MOUNT the image file on the system?  Once mounted it will appear like an attached drive on the desktop of the computer

Run the MIGRATION ASSISTANT application which will then prompt you to restore user accounts and applications and settings from the mounted system image.
