Without seeing the image, I can tell you that no home button makes it pretty much worthless. As for the screen being &quot;raised up&quot; that could be from a bad repair/replacement job, OR it could possibly be a fake iPhone. If this is something you are looking at on eBay, I would look elsewhere.

I guess my question was specific. It is owned by a friend who uses it for listing to the radio and an alarm clock, and not much else, due to the Home button failure. I worried there could be a battery degradation that caused the problem &nbsp;which means it is truly too hot to handle.<br />

So, I will take Paul's advice and suggest it be thrown away.<br />
