OneNote in iPhone X super slow as you type

For some strange reason a users OneNote in his iPhone is super slow in pages that have lot of data.  This problem has never occur and the user has a bunch of pages clogged with data and always OneNote has need working optimum.

Today we noticed the user typed and the characters were super slow to appear the pages with lots of data (FYI there is no images in these pages just typed data and links) - below is a vid of said problem.  However in a new page or a small or regular page contents, typing is ok.

What can be going on?  Please advice.

What's the speed of your phone network?  Were you on LTE, 3G, 4G?

LTE
Have you tried reinstalling the app? (make sure your notes are sync'd with OneDrive first!).

You could first try offloading the app and then installing again (offloading retains your data).

No luck with that, then try a full remove and install.

Yeah, done that.

(prior placing the question)
Perhaps it's worth changing keyboards and see if that makes a difference.  I've had similar issues with onenote but on an android device and changing the keyboard had a huge effect.
All workarounds, as I suspect this is just a Microsoft issue as they try to integrate their own context and formatting menus than perhaps trying to use the inbuilt ones.
Have you set up OneNote on another device with the same account without issue?

the problem is with iphone not PC version.
sure, I understand that.  you can use custom keyboards on iphone: https://www.imore.com/how-customize-keyboard-iphone-and-ipad

changed the keyboard, same problem.  Deleted the keyboard and added more, still problem.  Delete all keyboard re-added English change to various qwert, azery, qwertz; same problem - when typing on onenote via iPhone, super slow.

Did noticed something though; in pages with the problem seem to be 9,000 character plus.  This problem never happen and i been with iPhone for a long time and onenote also.

What do you think?
I think at this stage, I'd now attempt to rule out the hardware... can you load up the same pages on another iphone?  Do you still have the issue?

Didn't think of that... I have an iPad will open these exact pages there .... (will find an iPhone to test also)

Thanx! Good one!

Tried it on my iPad and is slow.

What should we try next?
The fact it happens on all devices (also try an Android device) really excludes the phone as the issue.

I believe it's a limitation /bug of the app. It's the way it processes a page with that amount of text. I've had similar issues on Android with OneNote where the typing has been not only slow but hard to edit

I would report the issue to Microsoft via the app store.

It seems to be a bug.  As said before, it wasn't happening and then after IOS12, started acting up.  So will reduce the contents for now wait for the next update of the apps and see.

Thanx for your support!
