Remote Desktop outside connection issues

I am having a problem with Remote Desktop on Windows 10 clients.  I can use remote desktop to connect to servers inside my domain but I cannot connect to servers outside the domain.  If I use a Windows 7 client inside my domain the connection works fine to the same outside servers.  Can you tell me what I am doing wrong here?

Latest patches have changed the way remote desktop works. Servers require network authentication, which doesn't work if you aren't on the domain.

The registry workaround in this article has fixed it for me: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4295591/credssp-encryption-oracle-remediation-error-when-to-rdp-to-azure-vm

ASKER

In my original question, I told you that some of my Windows 10 machines were not able to use RDP connections.  A weird thing happened late this afternoon.  I happened to unplug the network cable from one of those laptops and it was only hooked up using our wireless.  Suddenly, RDP  worked fine.  I tried it on another Windows 10 machine and the same thing held true.  If I am connected by a Ethernet cable, Remote Desktop cannot connect.  As soon as I am connected by wireless only, Remote Desktop connections work fine.

Could it be related to the firewall I any way?  Any thoughts on why this is happening?

We have a firewall consultant who does that and he agrees with you.  We are going to look into some changes.  Thanks!
