Wireless connection does not jump access points
I setup a 3rd Aerohive AP230 at a business location. The Cisco switch it is connected to is configured correctly (vlans). I loaded, reset and reloaded the correct aerohive profile.
When I am connected to wirelessnetworkA on my laptop/iphone the connection will not move to the new access point, it will either stick to the previous AP, or say connected, no internet. If I rename the SSID to wirelessnetworkA-2 I am able to connect to the 2nd access point no problem.
What could be the issue?

Sorry,
I should have clarified. It is the AP. I disconnected the other AP that was in range, reset my NIC and connected to AP3/wirelessnetworkA. Still the same issue. When I change the SSID to wirelesnetworkA-2, it works. It is definetely an issue with the AP.

Do you know what the issue could possibly be?
Once more:
What could be the issue?
Well, how many devices have you used to test this?
Which bands are each of the APs using?
I am pretty sure that individual mobile devices will or won't switch between signals in any particular way. I have seen them tend to "stick" to the original signal for longer than one might hope.
I would definitely test with multiple devices and device types.

This issue isn't regarding switching from AP to AP, as I stated above, I can't even connect to the new AP when the others are shut down on SSID wirelesnetworkA, but I can on wirelesnetworkA-2.
I have tried multiple devices, Windows 10 laptop, IOS devices.
All the APs are setup identical. they are using 802.11 g/n- 2.4 ghz/ 5ghz

You have 3 Aerohive AP230 access points in service.
Each SSID is "wirelessnetworkA" for each of the 3 APs.
A moving mobile device connected to one of them will not switch as it nears another.
If you change the SSID on one to wirelessnetworkA-2 then things work as expected.

Also, I would test with each AP running separately to make sure it works with the mobile devices by itself before testing AP switching.
