Why does my set path disappear when windows command prompt window is closed ?
My OS is Windows 10, 64-bit
I open Windows command prompt. I set a path using "Set Path" command.
Then, I type path and see the path that was just set.
Next, I close command prompt window. I re-open command prompt window. Type path and my path isn't there ?

Thank you however there is another option you can use.
Set is specific to the current window so it disappears when you close that window as you have discovered.
There is also the "Setx" command that changes the environment variable for all future windows. The caveat is that it does not impact the current window so you also need to enter the "Set" command to use it in that window or after entering the "Setx" command close the current window and re-open.
