Windows 10 32 bit to 64 bit

has a machine with 64 bit processor installed with windows 7 pro 32 bit.. there was the time when Microsoft gave the option to upgrade free to windows 10. The machine was upgraded to windows 10 pro 32 bit.

thinking of upgrading the machine RAM however 32 bit can't utilize the additional RAM. Is there any option to get this machine to be installed with windows 10 64 bit? only have the windows 7 64 bit software if to do a clean install.

Once a system is licensed (electronically) to Windows 10, it will authorize either 32 or 64.

Get the 64 bit Windows 10 media creation. ..

You can install the Windows 10 directly.

The machine was upgraded to windows 10 pro 32 bit.

So as noted, you can reinstall Windows 10, but you need to do a fresh install to get to 64-bit
As stated, since you did a free upgrade to WIN 10, your machine has an electronic license...

As the 32 to 64 bit conversion requires a reinstall, however, you must first BACKUP YOUR USER DATA, as this will not persist across the fresh reinstall!

In addition, after you install the 64 bit version, it will automatically reactivate itself, but you will need to restore your backed up data as well as reinstall your user programs!

Alas, there has never been a direct upgrade path from 32 bit to 64 bit!
check first if your hardware supports 64 bit : processor, motherboard etc...
you did not give any info for us to check that, so post pc , mobo and cpu model

thanks for the replies. the machine hardware support 64 bit, has a 64 bit processor... checked from settings->System->About
when doing the reinstallation, can we safely delete the existing system partitions and create new partitions? Where is the electronic license stored or how the machine remembers the license?
It's stored online. You can nuke all there is.
When prompted for cd, product key during install, skip.

Before you start down this road, if not mistaken, there is an option to register using your email, a recovery just in case .
The license recovery option deals with retaining the license in the event the mv dies.

The online (NS server) have the "fingerprint of your system" on which basis when the Isis Instalked, connects validates the system and re-activates the system.
Make sure you get the package that has both versions. The Media Creation Link will just give you what you have (32-bit)
I had little success with the Media Creation Link.  Try here and see if you can get the full ISO file. It should recognize your existing key.
