Mac Finder Default Folder Location

Hi,

Does anyone know how to change the default folder location when you open a new tab in Mac Finder?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

On my macOS High Sierra v10.13.6

Click Finder > Preferences...

Then on the General tab, click the up and down arrows as shown below - if the desired folder is not shown, select Other and browse to your folder of choice.

I hope that's helpful.

That's up to you :)

In any question you ask on EE, just click "No, but it is helpful" to any comment you found helpful, and "Yes! This is my solution." on the comment you found most helpful.

Thank you to both.

My thoughts on your answers... I (and most people) get numerous answers back and so when I log back in I usually see 3-4 answers, and not just the first answer.

Owen, I totally agree with you that your answer was in first, and I have nothing wrong with external links, however on the same level I also like the fact that Andrew went to the bother of adding screenshots.

When I logged back in, I quickly scanned the page and answers, and it was Andrew's screenshots that I used to solve my problem, so I didn't need to click on Owen's link. Does that mean Owen was incorrect... no!

Therefore I'm awarding the points equally, even thought I am not sure if technically that is the right thing to do... but it feels right to my situation.

Lastly, thank you to both of you. It is much appreciated.

Thanks. I would have added them had I been on my Mac. That is the problem with trying to answer questions quickly while on a phone or tablet.  There were images at that link as well, so I hoped they would have worked, but I will also take Andrew's comments into consideration and post images when I can (I usually do anyway.)  I appreciate your resolution.
