I am trying to configure my outlook 2007 on windows 10 laptop to my gmail account.
I have set up the POP settings on my gmail account.
when I try to connect to my gmail account via the outlook client I get a message "Problem Connecting to Server"
and also manually configuring server settings but no joy...
any guidance appreciated...thanks

Blossompark,
On the Outlook settings, have you made sure to set the "Requires SSL" checkbox to yes/checked?
Have you also done the same on the outgoing(SMTP) server settings? along with "Requires TLS" which should be enabled if available. along with "Requires Authentication" checked as well.
Also check your port numbers just in case, POP: 995, TLS/STARTTLS: 587
also the server names are: pop.gmail.com
and smtp.gmail.com
Please let me know if you need further help with this issue,
