Seeking example configuration for access switch with QoS for Skype

Can anyone point me to a sample configuration for accommodating Skype for Business Quality of Service on their Cisco IOS and/or Nexus OS network? This would prioritize Skype audio and skype video.

The best way to do this is to get the client to mark skype traffic with COS / DSCP marking.

And are you talking about Switch or Router configuration? its all different config depending where on the network you are.

Switches use queues and are based on prioritising marked traffic while routers with the corred licencing can do packet inspections and classification

I've created QoS using Auto QoS for CIsco phones. So the frames arrive at the switch port labeled and ready to go for QoS. But this is a much larger intricate network with more depndencies and auto QoS won't do. AND they're using Skype so that traffic is not identified at the layer 2 level unless perhaps some other action is taken from the default.

Thanks a million. That's been my mantra about the QoS. We have 10Gbps links to the site that has our egress and that rarely hits 10% utilization. Otherwise we're built out for Gig to the desktop and Internet speed test close to full wire speed and the WiFi pulls 47Mbps down and 75Mbps up.

Some of the mgt team are demanding QoS despite the overbuilt underutilized bandwidth and almost no jitter and no packet loss.

I'll ask another question about tools for measuring call quality with Skype.
