Is this a Virtual Server?
Before making any changes take a backup and snapshot of the server.

Download Java from Java website

https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html
You can also look here for older Runtime Versions. You need to do this because Java is now V1.8

I am sorry but don’t see any link for Java 1.7 as I have been told to go to 1.7 only

Would appreciate if you can send me
Any link for that
It was part of the above link, although not easily seen. Here is the archive link.

I see upto se 1.4 and not 1.7
Did you find your version?

Remember that Java versions go:  1.3, 1.4, 1.5 then not 1.6 but 6, 7, and 8

You said you want Version 7 and it is available where I showed you above.

Good luck.

U80 appears to be the latest version available.

We only need Java Runtime not SE or JDK.

can you provide the correct link
https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-archive-downloads-javase7-521261.html

Open this, scroll down the list for what you want. All SE Runtime, not JDK

I am getting confused with these below , which one to run on windows server 2008 r2

windows x64 - 87.92 MB- server jre 7u80 tar.gz

is this correct one, how should I remove tar.gz
Look down the list.

Left side says what OS (Windows or Linux). You have selected a Linux version (not for Server 2008).

Right side is the version number and if 7u80 is good for you pick the Windows version and likely 32-bit

Good luck.
