They are providing informations about Active Directory related services - which server manages the global catalog, which servers can be used for Kerberos authentication, and so on.

its similar to traditional A record ...it not only identifies the server where the server Exists and  what service exists on the server .

check the image EX: kerberos, DC, Ldap servcies exist on which server

In addition to the information provided in the previous answers, SRV records also show the port and protocol used to access the applicable service. Because of the way the DNS Manager console displays this information, the protocol is actually indicated by the folder that contains the record in question. (They're typically named _tcp or _udp.)
