Connecting my WiFi Xerox 6022 Laser Jet (Macbook)

Connecting my WiFi Xerox 6022 Laser Jet (Macbook)

My printer stopped working, and before I realized the router was blinking, I deleted the Printer.

Now I have reconnected it with the WPS button, but I can not find how to add the printer to my MacBook, so I can use it.

What am I missing?

Thanks.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

How is the 6022 connected (to the network or USB)?

The Phaser 6022 supports Apple Airprint. Hence it can be installed very easily.

Go to the Apple menu, click System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners. Now click the Add button (the big +) and you will see all printers on your local network. Select the printer and click Add. That should be it.

This assumes the Macbook and the printer are on the same subnet. If they're not, the printer will not show up. In that case, find out the printer's IP address (by printing a configuration page). Then, after clicking the + button, type the printer's IP address, select Airprint as the protocol and click Add.

For additional details, refer to this Apple Support page.

To print a configuration page, do the following. At the printer control panel, press the Menu button and press OK. Navigate to Configuration, then press OK. See page 24 of the User Guide.

BTW,  Apple menu > System Preferences > Printers & Scanners is also the way to install a USB connected printer.
