Hardwire this PC via the built-in or add-on NIC card.

Dell E7500 with 8gb of RAM running Windows 10
Intell 82567 LM-3 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter built-in
Wireless 802.11n Wireless Lan Card

I want to use the built-in NIC card and hard-wire this computer to the internet, but there are no lights when various cables LAN cables are plugged in.  I have tested the cables and the switch connection and everything seems to be fine.  There are no errors in the Device Manager.

What could be happening?  How can I best hard-wire this computer?

Assistance is greatly appreciated.

First try the PC end of the network cable on another machine to make sure it works.

Then, assuming it works, download the Dell LAN driver and locate it in a known spot.

In Device Manager, remove the LAN driver and restart. When it wants a new LAN driver, point it to your download above and install it.

See then if the NIC lights (connection and speed) return.

this means the connection is not physically wired at all. this can be a cable issue, or something wrong with port(s) on the NIC (unlikely as both NIC currently behave the same way).

i know you have tested the cable, but please try again using several more different cables and different heads of the cables.

rregarding the NIC ports, do a visual check to see if the connectors inside the ports are in good condition.
Make sure the nic is enabled, check networking control panel (old style)

The NIC might be disabled in BIOS.
