Pi3 will not boot with enable_uart=1 on Raspbian Stretch
Pi3 with Raspbian Stretch (fully update/upgraded) will not boot with enable_uart=1 in /boot/config.txt -- bunch of stuff appears on the screen.
If I set it enable_uart=0, no problem.
My issue is that I need to use the UART Rx/Tx functionality.

I did some research on the topic and it appears to be specific to Pi3's, because of how UART is used by Bluetooth by default. If you are not using Bluetooth you can add "dtoverlay=pi3-disable-bt"

Hope this helps,
