Lenovo V3700 V2

Dear Experts,

I am configuring a Lenovo V3700 V2 with 24 hard drives.

I created two pools.

I added 12 drives to the first pool.

When I want to add the remaining 12 to the second pool, I only see 11 drives.

Where did the missing disk go?

check the pools - Internal Storage -

1) may be assigned as hot spare or configured in raid ...

2) delete pool - create again.

3) is the HDD led blinking ? is it properly connected ? check once...

Hi!

I created the second pool, it shows 11 drives.

I went to internal pool, there is a spare hard drive.

I marked it from Spare to Candidate.

How do i add it to the second pool?

pools - Internal Storage - configure storage-

select a different configurations - select raid levlels...

go on...

Just realized that in the Add Storage setting, I need to minus 1 drive from the spare then the total size for the second pool is the same as the first.

when you use the recommended configuration it'll configure raid 5 which is always contains a single parity disk...

if you wnat to configure --select a different configurations-- you can do how ever... as per requirements..

Do I need to add a license for the controller?

I have a paper in an envelope that says Ordering Document for Lenovo: V3700 V2 Controller 3yr S&S with a Part Number and Form Number?

Hi, the question was for Hotspare... so please close and open another ...

regagrding Document order... just follow the instructions

mostly controllers comes with bundle activated with basic features ... if you want add on features i.e Remotecopy, Flash copy upgrade... you have to add license
