AP has to use dhcp server when it try to join wlc

As we know, AP needs to get ip address first when it wants join WLC. so its dhcp server is very important. My question is if the AP is assigned with static ip address, do you think the dhcp server is still very important? I mean if the AP needs other function from the dhcp server? thank you

Yes
No it can be static.  You should have added the information I had to ask 2 times as there are hundreds of WLC's and AP's

Sorry. I am new in wireless field. Please let me know what other info you need.

so if we set static ip address to APs, we do not need to use dhcp server in this situation, right?  If so, in what situation do we still need dhcp server if APs already have static ip address configured? Thank you
