Office 365 Tenant. AD Connect. Reply email changed... but emails send as onmicrosoft.com

Setup Office 365 tenant. Got AD Sync working. Setup myemaildomain.co.uk.

Email in and out works.

Have used ADSIEdit to add proxyaddresses. Set my PRIMARY in capitals and this is reflected in the O365 user properties.

However, everytime we send an email.. it is xxx@xxx.onmicrosoft.com

I cannot seem to change it as it is reflected as xxx@myemaildomain.co.uk is the primary reply email address. And of course I can only amend local domain as this is an AD Connect setup.

scenario. Username AA, BB, CC. Domain @sausages.co,uk

UPN AA@sausages.onmicrosoft.com
I want AANAME@sausages.co.uk to be my reply.

No matter what I do, I get aa@sausages.onmicrosoft.com Even tried adding new UPN suffixes in Domains and Trusts.

Can you please advise?

Many thanks in advance

close outlook, create a new profile with the user@domain.ext and retry
Hello,

Do you have Hybrid Exchange setup? If so, you need to modify the default SMTP address on the contacts in Exchange on-prem. If you don't, you need to modify the default email address policy in O365 to use your domain as the default reply-to. You need to do this in powershell:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/exchange/email-addresses-and-address-books/set-emailaddresspolicy?view=exchange-ps

Finally came through. Not changed anything further.

Will monitor this and feedback.

Thanks

I have done everything to the letter AND MORE.

However, just was not changing till suddenly now and now I have more aliases as I wanted.

NOT HYBRID... just AD Connect.

Thanks

Remember that your changes will not be reflected until the sync has completed and the frequency depends on what you have set in ADConnect.

I have been starting sync manually to get changes
In your original post you you mentioned that the Primary SMTP is correctly reflected in O365, correct? And the problem you have is that when sending messages, instead they go out as the onmicrosoft.com address? If so, have you tried sending the message from OWA?

Was able to resolve. However, advising on usefulness as the posts made would be useful for troubleshooting in the future
Thanks everyone
