How Could I Rig a Small Red Light on Top of My Web Cam?

Virtual meetings with multiple participants. 2 or three extra screens facing me so I can see the participants.  Greenscreen behind me.

On top of the monitors is my camera.

I often forget to look in the camera when I'm speaking, or replying to a question.

Need a way to jury-rig a little red light on the camera.  Something to remind me to "Look here." when talking.

Any creative ideas?  Where can I find a bright red, but small single bulb light that I could stick on top of my webcam: https://www.logitech.com/assets/64513/24/c930e-webcam.jpg

And, how could I get it to stick on there?

Thanks!

Must it be red?  If it can be white, then go to a dollar store and buy an LED candle.  For a dollar you generally get two, with the batteries.  If it must be red, open up the case, desolder the white LED, and replace it with a red LED.  As far as making it stick, epoxy or cyanoacrylate.

If you really want to get involved in this and have electronic skills, then open up the USB camera, pick up the +5 and ground lines from the USB cable, drill a tiny hole in the top of the case and install a very small red LED with an appropriate dropping resistor.

Hi Dr. Klahn,

Thanks for you reply!

Any good Google images for what you have in mind when you say "an LED candle".

Thanks!
