Hi, This is something probably very easy to answer, my question is regarding an install uncertainty for an Exchange coexistence - I am planning an Exchange 2016 server (Enterprise ver) to coexist with the Firms existing Exchange 2010 Server. Initially all roles will stay on the Exchange 2010 server and in time will move mailboxes over to Exchange 2016 server.
What I am confused about is, during the install wizard of Exchange 2016 CU10 Server setup - in the 'Server Role Selection' there are the following options:
- Mailbox role
- Automatically install Windows Server roles and features that are required to install Exchange Server
I need the Mailbox role, however, I am worried that if I tick the 2nd option (Automatically install windows server roles.......) will this install all features to automatically make Exchange 2016 server take over the roles from Exchange 2010...?
Do I need this option ticked or not, as I want to ensure that Exchange 2010 remains as the role server and Exchange 2016 just a mailbox severs?
Thank you
