It is not affecting but I've put
.well {
    background-color: rgb(22, 105, 173);
}

to the css file.

That will colour the entire background - not the bit in red on the right.

You do not appear to have an element on the right that makes up that block?

OK to fill the whole block with color, while the block is actually defined by this

        <div class="container">
            <div class="well well-lg">

When you say "whole block" do you mean the red bit (Can't do - as there is no markup for that area) or the entire .well INCLUDING the table?

Yes, entire block (div), including the table.

The reason your style is not working is that it is in the CSS file StyleSheet1.css

The style for the table is being overridden by the bootstrap file which is included AFTER the above - so it's version takes precdence.

Move StyleSheet1.css after Bootstrap - would be the ideal solution.

If that is problematic then declare your style !important i.e.

background-color: rgb(22,105,173)!important;

I try to avoid !important unless I have no choice as it can have unwanted side-effects.
