Vmware - Installing with vendor ISO then upgrading with generic Vmware ISO
Aloha,
Building my first Vmware cluster with a vendor specific (Dell) ISO. I have the 6.7
ISO but it appears Dell hasn't come out with a 6.7U1 ISO yet. Is it safe/acceptable
to use the Dell 6.7 ISO to install then use the generic Vmware ISO to bump hosts to U1??

Bill

That's kinda what I'm asking if can be done.
Yes, it should be fine. Just download the latest patch (https://my.vmware.com/grou p/vmware/p atch#searc h) and copy it to the machine - preferably to a local datastore and run it whilst in maintenance mode.

Normally there should be no problem using VMware ISO or image profile to update a host that was originally installed with a vendor ISO
Also a DELL ISO for 6.7U1 should be available since October 17
