Oracle RAC Database 12.2C versus Oracle RAC 18c

Looking for a compelling reason to continue with my current database upgrade choice.  Currently we are proceeding down the path of upgrading from Oracle RAC database 12.1 to 12.2c, rather than the much talked about Oracle 18c.  Apparently there was much fanfare at OOW and our J2EE Software Developer are very interested.  However, I have already start my investigation/research and practice with Oracle Database 12.2c.  How can I persuade folks that 12.2 is just as a good direction? Need to be able to make really good argument.

18 c is nothing else as 12.2.0.2. So there is no magical in 18c. The best choice is to wait for 19c next July (2019). 18c has a new concept (option) called read-only Oracle home. This makes updates and possibly upgrades more easily. Go to My Oracle Support and analyze the Roadmap of Oracle releases. The primary support of 12.1 ends  in July 2019. It is good to migrate to 18c (support up July 2021) and 19c (support 2023-2025). Keep in mind that classical single instance architecture is obsolete in Oracle (thanks to Godd it is supported, but ...)  In the future only CDB with PDPs will be supported. By the migration to 18/19c keep in mind that JVM is version 8 and this brings errors by the applications, also standart JDK is 10.

Thanks guys!  Better to get it right even though I will need to back track a little at work.
