Active/Active redundant MBAM(Virtual machines) server requirement

Hi experts

I need to setup redundant MBAM server ((Virtual machines). Please note that we will be using SQL database in MBAM server.
Basically we need to have two MBAM server that work as Active/Active so that in case of one of the servers down , the other will provide resources to users.

I appreciate if you can suggest me something that give Active/Active redundant access to 2 - MBAM(Virtual machines) server.

I know we can use 2 physical servers with Hyper-V cluster but in my case I can only use VMs which I need to plan something that can provide Active/Active access of 2 MBAM server in terms of Web, SQL, etc.

Thanks

MBAM = MalwareBytes or Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring? Please define any acronyms.

There are two methods that I can see:
1: Set up a Hyper-V Cluster with at least two nodes and have node affinity set so that each VM stays on a specific node
2: Have two physical hosts set up with one VM per host

An alternative is to have a good backup in place, should be the case anyway, that allows for instant restore on the BDR or system the backup resides on (Veeam).

Another option would be Hyper-V Replica with two hosts and one MBAM VM being replicated between them. Or, run MBAM1 on Host 1 replicated to host 2 and MBAM2 on host 2 replicated to host 1.

The SQL element sounds like a catch though? Where would the primary instance reside? I don't believe both MBAM1 and MBAM2 can host an individual instance within itself? We've not set this up so I'm unsure about it.
Hi Philip

Thanks for your respond. As I have already mentioned in question, "I know we can use 2 physical servers with Hyper-V cluster but in my case I can only use VMs"

My requirement needs to be Active/Active scenario that is available for users in case if either one of the VMs go down or if we need to restart or patch one of the servers.

Any suggestion on load balancing of MBAM portal and SQL DB on both VMs?

Thanks
That is it. That talks about the SQL side of things to make sure the entire setup is highly available.
