Looking to upgrade Home Wi Fi Router
Looking to upgrade someones Home Wi Fi Router, whats a good router for around £50-100, they just need a faster wi fi connection, with a few extra security features. Have been looking at the TP Link Archer C7 or Netgear R6800. Just wondering if anyone has used them and what they are like in terms of set up/ using Macs and Windows Computers on it/ wi fi range/ speed of wi fi?
Thanks
Thanks
I am using a Cisco RV134W AC router for wireless and it works fine. I think it might fit at the top of your range. The AC band is great with Laptops with AC cards.

Ideally I want to avoid Cisco as the use different terminology to the rest of the industry....and any Cisco products that I have used/ programmed are overly complex.
Cisco RV series have good GUI setups so worthy of considering. I have one here in my home office
Be sure to check specs. I tend toward NetGear Nighthawk because speed is insane. Sustained 1.5G for all local connections, so if your streaming big files between local machines (backups, streaming video) be sure to check true speed of 802.11ac.
Also I have 1G asymmetric fiber run to my house, so it's important for all connections to maintain at 1G or faster.
Be sure to check specs very carefully, as many 802.11ac routers speed tops out at less than 1G.
