Cannot start BitLocker on Windows 10 Pro - an internal error was detected
The user is required by work to have BitLocker Drive Encryption turned on. They have a desktop computer.
Dell Inspiron 3670
Windows 10 Pro 10.0.17134 Build 17134 12 GB RAM Windows 10 is up to date
BIOS Mode UEFI
Every time we try and turn on BitLocker, we are unable to start BitLocker and get message "An internal error was detected"
How can we get BitLocker installed?
Thanks.

Is TPM enabled in the BIOS?
Open an elevated command prompt (right-click cmd.exe and select "run as administrator") and launch
If your machine does not have a tpm chip, this will not work. In that case refer to https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/6229/how-to-use-bitlocker-on-drives-without-tpm/

Fibertron is correct. You first need to enable tpm in bios under security.

Not sure what solved. The user had tech support fix via a remote session that I wasn't involved in. User has no idea what they did.
