i am trying to implement retention policy in my company.<br />

all mailboxes are in 365.<br />
<br />
users are asking me following questions.<br />
<br />
1) we have E3 licensing so mailboxes have 100 gb of space , almost 80% of users have only 20 gb of data in their mailboxes.<br />
<br />
they say it will take 5 yrs to fill, so why archive nad retention?<br />
<br />
so what is the main reason i should implement retention policy, if i implement the same, even users who deleted the items can be preserved?<br />

2) what if no retention policy, what is the negative effect it will carry on users or on organization?<br />

3) how about CEO or directors who have habit of seeing emails in their inbox, once there mails are moved to archive, wont it be a problem for them?<br />
