Is there a reliable way to wake up a PC from remote?

All our PCs are set to sleep after 20 min.
Sometimes I need ot log in remotely to one of them so I remote into our server (which is always on).
If I'm lucky I can RDP from there into the workstation, but in most of the cases I cannot.
We tried configuring the PC BIOS + Windows for wake on lan, but it's not reliable.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mihai

Doing what you are doing is the only methodology with sending a wake-on-lan packet and waiting a few minutes.

I need to log into a client machine to run QuickBooks .  Leave that machine on a do not let it sleep.
What are you using to send wake on LAN? Do you have any routers in between device sending WoL and the computer you're trying to wake up? Is your WoL BIOS setting correct? Can you be more specific about WoL not being reliable?
Intel vPro based systems operate in a similar way to iDRAC Enterprise, iLO Advanced, and Intel RMM. That's full power-up and down, remote BIOS management, KVM over IP, as well as remote user shadowing.
the issue, your system suspend/hibernate which is why they are inaccessible.

Wake on LAN requires that you have the MAC address (ether and then send a magic packet to initiate the wake up.)

John's suggestion is right, if you need access, configure the system to never hibernate/disable the Nic.
