SQL server link to visio document

Hello experts,

I need to connect a SQL server to a visio document, to use its data. How can I manage that? Is there a possibility to make that happen?

Hi,

The Enterprise Architecture version of Visio allows you to to so very easily: click: Database -> Generate.
This will generate the DDL and you can even create new databases.

Once you have the DDL you will have to use a query window to open the file. If you have the right permissions to add a new schema and tables etc.. you can create a new database.

Is the Enterprise Architect version of Visio still available? I thought the ability to reverse engineer databases was dropped from the main visio product several versions ago. Are these features - generate database/reverse engineer database - still in current Enterprise Architect edition?
