Added network between 2 2016 servers for backup but the computers cannot see the added network.

I added a network to use for backups on a seperate network.  It only goes between 2 computers.  Neither computer can see this network.  How do ZI make this work?

Make sure it is on a different subnet than the main LAN and unbind any unneeded protocols such as netBIOS and IPv6, do not let it register in DNS.

It is as you suggested.
It shows up as unidentified public network

to see the computers you should start services ComputerBrowser and Server.

the unidentified public network is a bug in windows 7 and older. if you have windows 8 to windows 10 you should be able to click at the icon for the "unidentified network" and change the type to working place network.

in order to mutually access the computers you should have shares for your partitions (or folders). create an account with the same credentials at the other computers. if so, you could connect by using a new network link at 'This Computer' in the Windows explorer.

note, the subnet definitively must be different to your first subnet (see also comment of andyalder). so if internet is at subnet 192.168.1.x you may use 192.168.0.y for the internal network.  as already told don't use DHCP and DNS but use fixed IP4 addresses, e. g. 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2.
